The Vibrolux Reverb became one of Fender's most popular amp models among players, sporting a great wattage for clean headroom, in a not overly heavy cabinet like its big brother the Twin Reverb. Loud, clean and with just the right bit of natural compression, this amp would serve well in nearly any studio or live setting as a great plug & play amp, or for the right pedal platform.

Cosmetically this amp is in great shape with minimal wear in its tolex, mainly at its corners - and an aged but fairly clean grill cloth. The faceplate is in very good shape overall, and the name of a previous owner scratched into the backside of the chassis.
The cabinet is currently loaded with a Jensen Special design C10P and a Celestion G10 Alnico Gold, both well broken in and sounding excellent. The footswitch has had its wiring harness replaced with a ¼” TRS cable, and the vibrato socket replaced with a ¼” socket accordingly. The power cord has been upgraded to a modern 3-prong, grounded cord.

Internally this amp has seen quite a bit of maintenance and restoration work. The chassis shows some discoloration, and is darkened around the power + rectifier tubes - suggesting something failed at some point. All tube sockets have been replaced with Belton sockets, and much of the wiring to the sockets has been replaced. The power and standby switches have both been replaced as well. The original Schumacher Transformers are still present. The tubeset is mostly JJ tubes, with an older Sylvania rectifier tube present.

The filter capacitor section under the doghouse has been completely re-built with high quality Sprague Atom capacitors & new dropping resistors. The rest of the electrolytic capacitors, 4 of the coupling caps, and several resistors have been replaced on the main board. Curiously, several of the components have been re-located off the fiberboard and wired point to point to the potentiometers. It is unknown why this was done, but the missing solder eyelets suggest that the board may have been damaged as well - and replacing the eyelets may have been deemed more trouble than it was worth.

Despite the extensive restoration, all of the work has been very cleanly executed. This is an excellent sounding and playing Vibrolux, with all of the vintage charm and bulletproofed with years of reliable operation ahead of it.
