Version 1.1 is highly sought after because of its raw, uncompressed tone, distinct "openness," and massive amounts of low and high-end. Many players consider it the best version because it sits on its own distinct branch of the overdrive evolutionary tree and offers incredible touch-sensitivity.
Compared to later OCD versions that smoothed out the frequency response or changed the volume/tone tapers, the V1.1 has a wider, more aggressive frequency sweep, a saggy, "starved tube" feel, and a massive sweep that can act as both a clean boost and a full-on distortion.
