I'm not sure who signed off on this one at the Gibson Custom Shop but it looks very much like a cheeky nod towards Paul McCartney's left handed 1960 Les Paul Standard (one of only 2 ever made by Gibson in 1960.) This one is right-handed and was built in 2018 for delivery to Japan as a 'Hand Selected' model which is where it was found. It could have been special order, we are not sure, but it ended up in the hands of a Japanese collector and Beatles fan and has been well looked after since. Another oddity about this one is the neck profile which feels closer to a 1959 carve than a 1960. It has what looks like a Madagascan Rosewood fingerboard and some really nice tight maple flame showing on the top with nitrocellulose lacquer so thin you can actually see the maple flame ridges in 3D. It’s an exceptional playing historic with some superb sounding Custombuckers. Nice weight for an R0 at 4.1kg. Obviously no issues at all, no breaks, repairs or modifications. A little light playwear but easily grades as excellent. The little white specs you can see on the headstock are just case dust.  Complete with original Custom Shop hard shell case also in great condition and all case candy inc authenticity booklet and Japanese 'hand selected' booklet. A very special Custom Shop 1960 historic reissue with links to a legend.
