 I’m a huge Parkwood fan. I’ve bought a ton of them for myself and for others. They’re workhorses. They were introduced and distributed by Guitar Center in the early 2000’s—kind of a “house brand.” They were made to compete with lower end Taylors and Martins.

 These are underrated instruments. All solid woods. This one is a Sitka spruce top with rosewood back and sides. Dove tail neck joint. Ebony fretboard. Grover tuners. It has a Fishman Prefix onboard pre-amp/EQ/mixer, with both under-saddle piezo element and internal microphone. (This is the same onboard used in early electric/acoustic Taylors.)

 Sound. This is an extremely useable guitar. I have purchased many these for myself and others over the years because they sound great acoustically and through a PA system. They are affordable for playing out, rather than taking along a very expensive guitar. I love the Prefix through a PA. Lots of tone-shaping. Excellent in a live situation. Highly recommended.

 Playability. This guitar is presently set up with very low action and plays very easily and very well. I love a fast-playing, low action acoustic because I play all over the neck. Nice, full-C neck back—fits well in the hand. Stays in tune very well.

 Condition. This guitar is in amazing condition. I truly cannot find dings, blemishes, cracks or damage of any time. Top, back and sides are clean. Neck is clean. Headstock is clean. Very little fret wear. A bit of oxidation on the tuners. Some finish swirls from picking and handling, but that’s about it.

 About the electronics. Everything works as it should. When I purchased it, there was an audible hum. It turned out the copper shielding on the under-saddle piezo element was worn and was picking up noise. I replaced the element with the proper Fishman Prefix piezo element. Now it’s quiet and sounds great. Tuner works great. Lot’s of tweaking options for a great sound.

 Case. This guitar ships in a good hardshell case.
