1980 Gibson ES-175 All-Original Archtop Guitar with Case
A beautiful all-original Gibson ES-175 archtop jazz guitar, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA. Serial number: 81760015.
This guitar is in very nice vintage condition and is truly a gem of a jazz box. It features a rare Natural / Dark Sunburst finish that has a slightly different look from the standard sunburst finishes of that era, giving it a unique and elegant vintage character.
The guitar shows no major dings, no neck repairs, and no visible signs of repair or modification that I can see. The electronics work well and appear to be untampered with. The original Gibson/Kluson-style tuners are stamped “Gibson,” function properly, and hold tuning well.
The neck is straight and the guitar plays easily. The neck profile has a comfortable medium girth — not too fat and not overly thin — with standard nut width. The frets are low but still playable, though a refret may be considered in the near future depending on the player’s preference.
There are some typical vintage surface/stress finish checks around the guitar, which are common and expected on a vintage ES-175. Nothing appears unusual or concerning for an instrument of this age.
The original case is well worn, as shown in the photos, but remains intact. All latches, snaps, and the handle are functional.
A wonderful vintage Gibson ES-175 with classic jazz tone, great playability, and strong collector appeal.
Thank you for viewing, and may you be blessed.
