Vintage solid-state guitar amplifier produced in 1967 by the Thomas Organ Company under licensing by Vox - serial # 1054256. The Viscount is a combo version of the piggyback Vox Buckingham that utilizes germanium power transistors for a warmer, more tube-like tone; features a 3-channel layout; onboard 2-spring Accutronics reverb; and tremolo and unique top and mid-boost effects.

Specifications:

Output rated at 35 watts RMS (70 watts peak)

Two 12-inch speakers (originally Vox Gold or Silver Bulldogs manufactured by Oxford)

3 Channels - Normal, Brilliant and Bass

Controls:

Normal Channel: Volume, Treble, Bass, and "Top Boost" .

Brilliant Channel: Volume, Treble, Bass, and "Mid-Boost.

Bass Channel: Volume and "Tone-X", a unique sweepable frequency control.

Effects: Built-in tremolo (with Speed and Depth controls) and assignable reverb with a Blend control.

MRB (Mid Resonant Boost): A 3-way rotary switch offering mid-range frequency boosts at 450, 600, and 750 Hz.

Foot Switch: multi-button pedal to control Reverb, Tremolo, MRB, and built-in distortion/fuzz effect.

Dimensions: 23.875 H X 29" W X 11.5" D. Weighs approximately 55 pounds

Notes: There are the typical dents along the rear of the control panel. The 4 button footswitch is a reproduction pedal from North Coast music purchased new by me. The replacement speakers are Weber Blue 12F with ceramic magnets. Printed schematic included. This listing DOES NOT INCLUDE either the chrome trolley stand or amp cover.

The amp's electronics were completely redone by the late Larry Smetana of Accutech Audio in East Hartford, CT about 10 years ago and the item has sat unused since then in my smoke-free home studio. I would prefer local-pickup on this amp if possible due to its size and heft.

NOTE: For those items in my shop listed with a "Make an Offer" option, offers of 64% or less will automatically be rejected by the site as advised by reverb.com. In addition, any offer of less than 80% of the listing price will not be countered.
