EACH PURCHASE IS FOR A SINGLE UNIT/ 2 AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW BUILT AS A MATCHED PAIR!
***. Note- I posted these as B stock so I could offer more than 1, and also because there is no condition description for " Completely Overhauled/ Like New" condition...****
These 2 were recently re-fabricated at PMR in Ohio with All new OEM/ AMERICAN components!
There are no after market, replacement , India made parts or import chyna crap in these, but AMERICAN made components!!
...........'Fellas', even if you don't buy from me- BUY AMERICAN!!! IT COUNTS!
Anyhow, these were stripped own to bare metal. Even the magnets were removed so that a fresh coat of paint/lacquer could be applied to make them look as factory fresh as humanly possible.
THEN, the magnetic gaps were verified with a gauss/flux probe and measured just fine, so they were PURPOSELY NOIT de-magnetized and then re-magnetized. Some people say these older magnets " Sweeten with age", and after hearing them, I HAVE to agree...
Then, the frames and magnetic structures were bolted back together, and then the fun began...
I'll itemize so that you know exactly what you are getting with these little gems..
*Frames- aluminum
*Hook Up- bare wire terminals/ polarity indicated
*Magnetic material- AlNiCo
*Outer mounting gaskets- natural cork
*Litz wires- .050" diameter COPPER Litz wires!
*Dust Caps- JBL aluminum/ lip down 4"Spiders- High compliance treated textile/ flat profile
*Cone- 12 gram/ repressed pulp
*Cone profile- curve-linear/smooth body/ no rib shape
*Surround- PAPER!
*Voice coil- Pure copper
*Impedance- 16 ohms
*Power- 100watts
*Sensitivity-103.2 dB!
*Response-65Hz- 8Khz and THEN into roll-off
*Core- vented
That'll give you guys a good idea of what's inside of them, and how they'll sound...
A couple quick points-
The Litz wires are COPPER, and NOT the usual industry standard stuff that's the silver/gray "Pot-Metal" materials... That stuff only smudges and smears the signal BEFORE it even gets to the voice coil...You'll have cleaner, more true to signal getting to the heart of the speaker.
The cones in these are full paper body, and only 12 grams. They are made at the SAME plant, with the SAME materials, and the SAME tooling as they were when they came out some 50+ years ago... You JBL guys will know he exact date they came out, and that info would be appreciated.
The surrounds have been treated with special Eastman Kodak chemicals to slightly "loosen up" the pulp fibers, which lowers Free Air resonance (Fs), and increases the "low end" response down to 65Hz which is plenty low for guitar and even most drop tuning situations.. ..if you build a K120 with those after market cones , you'll be lucky to get down to 160 Hz....
Fully tested under diagnostics and operates without any rubbing, smoking, buzzing, holes, rips or tears, these are basically new speakers again... Possibly BETTER!
* I'm including my 15 day " NO GAMBLE" return option from delivery date (((less customer damage))) if for ANY REASON you don't like what you just bought!
Sooo, if you've been looking for a pristine example ( or 2) of the famous high performance K120, then here ya' go!
ANY questions or concerns, just ask.
THANKS GUYS!
