Sometimes a guy gets lucky. Bought this from a Gibson-endorsed artist who never played it. So I grabbed it and drove to a buddy's house who has a '61 reissue SG that I love and, after about 5 minutes of playing it, he tried to buy it from me. No no no, I said. I just got it! Then he tried to trade me his SG and, though mightliy tempted, I decided to pass. So years pass, tastes evolve and I find myself not reaching for the SG anymore which means it's time to set it free.
The 2013 Gibson SG standard was a continuation of the '61 reissue line so it's a '61 reissue in all but name. Same '57 Classic pickups, same tuners and the fit and finish of this SG is the cleanest I've seen. Fret wear is minimal, if any. This one's in excellent condition and it's a tremendous guitar that's hard to move on from.
