Washburn New Model 1897 Style Parlor Guitar, 1897-9, restored

Exceptional early Washburn New Model 1897 Style Parlor Guitar, datable by the serial number to the very end of the 19th century. Absolutely stunning Brazilian rosewood back and sides, beautiful tight grained spruce top.

This guitar was fully restored at a very high caliber in the recent past, soup to nuts, and is overall in stunning condition both physically and cosmetically. However, in an act of criminal negligence the previous seller shipped the guitar with inadequate packaging, resulting in a series of significant cracks to the sides. These have been solidly repaired and are no longer of structural consequence, but the resulting cosmetic damage is a meaningful blemish on this otherwise immaculately restored beauty. The cracks have been messily sealed with CA glue and are suitable for cosmetic restoration from someone more familiar with the finishes and techniques involved.

Playing absolutely beautifully with extra light silk and steel strings as presently strung, or with high tension nylon strings. Stiffer strings are not recommended due to the very light bracing.
