If there ever was a Mesa Boogie Trem-o-verb to want, this is it. It’s in such good clean condition for its age. The amp was built in October of 1994. I have pictures of the chassis with the builders initials and date, along with the original hang tags.

I got this amp from a guy who acquired it from a family member who was the original owner. The original owner bought it new, used it for a few years then stored it and moved to Alaska. The amp sat for 25 years. The fact that it sat stored for so long is why it’s in such clean condition.

When I got a hold of it, I could hear that the amp needed a tune up. So I had my amp tech, who works closely with Mike B. (Yes that Mike B. from Mesa Boogie) replace all of the LDR’s and caps and tubes in the amp. This amp works perfectly and is an absolute BEAST. Imagine this, an early original tremoverb that produces that iconic Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier sound, that works perfectly, sounds warm, fat, vintage, and mean, but it also sounds fresh, tight, and modern with the tune up and all brand new tubes. Every single tube is brand new. All 6 pre amp tubes are now Mesa 12ax7, all 4 power tubes are Mesa 6L6 STR 445, and both rectifier tubes are Mesa 5U4G.

The chugs are fatter than fat but also tighter than tight if you can imagine that. Bass and warmth for days, Mids so smooth, and highs so clear. Channel 2 is just brilliant for palm mutes and highs gain.

The vintage gain channel sound glorious. So warm, it’s a vibe. In clean mode, wow! The cleans are chimey and round and clear and some of the best cleans you’ve ever heard.

Ultimately you will be blown away by this amp just as I have been. But it’s time for me to pass the torch to the next person willing to yield its power.
