This is a 1979 Pre-Ernie Ball Sabre I , which means it is a 12 inch radius on the board. This is entirely original, with the exception of the three chrome knobs, and The 9-volt battery that I just replaced today. I . The guitar is in amazingly good condition considering it's 46 years of age!

If you are looking at the listing, you probably are aware of Leo Fenders middle transition company that he started after leaving his namesake Fender Company. Music man was only around for a few years, and most notably created the Music Man Amplifiers. They also produced a two model series of guitars (and Bass) the Stingray, and the Sabre. The Guitars that Leo Fender developed at Music Man were the pre-cursors to the G&L guitars introduced in 1980. The f-100 was pretty much a re-take on the Sabre electronically, with many of the same parts being used for their production.

Enough of the history, this guitar is in fantastic condition for its age. There are very few dings or dents on the body, and literally nothing damaging the neck or its fretboard. The board is nearly pristine. The frets used on the Sabre I's were very wide and low. These appear to be original, and not very heavily worn, just low to begin with. They are perfectly playable up and down the neck, with a height at the 17th fret right at 2/32nd graduating to just under 3/32 bass E. Very Playable, and easy on the hand. all the electronics are working and in excellent condition. Pretty noise free as well. I've attached a copy of the Sabre's switching explanation sheet so you can figure out what they do. I sincerely hope this goes to a player, but I also realize this guitar is a piece of Fender legacy. Now that G&L is also closed, these guitars will become more that just collectibles.

I will ship this guitar in the Hard shell case in the phots to THE CONTINENTAL USA ONLY, via FedEx home/ground or UPS ground for a flat Rate of $95.00. Please look at all the photos , and ask any questions! I will be happy to answer.
