Vintage left-handed brass guitar nut removed from a 1964 Gibson Melody Maker project guitar. This appears to be a hand-cut or hand-fitted aftermarket brass nut, not a factory-original Gibson part.
Best suited for a restoration, repair, or custom project where final fitting is expected.
The slotting and shaping are not perfectly uniform, and there are visible file/cut marks in some areas, which gives it the look of an older handmade or custom-fitted brass nut modification.
The nut was originally heavily oxidized/dirty when removed and has since been cleaned and hand-polished. It now has a nice polished brass shine while still showing normal age, scratches, patina in the slots, and signs of previous use.
Approximate dimensions:
Overall length: approx. 1 5/8"
Height: approx. 1/4"
Thickness: approx. 3/16"
This was removed from a 1964 Gibson Melody Maker project guitar, but exact fitment on another Melody Maker, Gibson, or other guitar is not guaranteed. Final fitting, sanding, and slot work may be required.
