Martin / 1976 D-76

July 1976 marked the 200th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

The D-76 was produced in 1976 units to commemorate the 200th anniversary, in honor of the anniversary year.

While based on the D-35, it incorporates American-specific features throughout.

First, there's the bald eagle (American eagle) inlay on the headstock, a symbol of America.

Furthermore, the 13 star inlays on the fretboard represent the 13 states, familiar from the stripes of the American flag.

The top is made of Sitka spruce, and the sides and back are made of Indian rosewood (the back is 3-piece), suggesting that it was produced based on the D-35.

One difference is that the rosette has a herringbone pattern.

The D-76 uses high-grade wood, befitting a commemorative model.

Therefore, the powerful sound and well-balanced overtones characteristic of the D-76 may be its most popular features.

- The body top has a nice checkered pattern, giving it a vintage look. There are scratches on the top and small dents on the body and neck, which are in a condition commensurate with its age.

- Pickguard/bridge pins/end pins replaced
- Strap pin installed at neck end

[Playing Condition]
- String height at 12th fret: 2.5mm on the 6th string side, 2.0mm on the 1st string side
- Saddle protrusion: Approximately 2mm
- No buzzing or dead spots; playing condition is excellent.
