Up for sale is a fantastic, all-original 2012 Gibson Les Paul Special in Satin Ebony. If you are looking for a pristine case queen, this isn't it—but if you love a guitar with real rock-and-roll character, natural finish wear, and killer playability, this is the one.
This guitar features a solid mahogany body and neck, a bound rosewood fingerboard, and a roaring pair of original Gibson humbuckers that deliver classic, thick Les Paul grit and sustain.
Condition & Finish Wear
This guitar has been loved, played, and has developed a striking natural "relic" look over the years. The thin satin nitrocellulose finish on these 2012 models is notorious for wearing down beautifully, and this one has plenty of stories to tell:
Body Front: Significant, honest play wear/finish chipping on the lower bass-side bout and right above the pickups/pickguard where your picking arm and hand naturally rest.
Body Back & Edges: Finish chipping along the lower edge and upper bass bout contours, exposing the gorgeous mahogany wood underneath.
Neck: There is finish wear running down the back of the neck along the bass side (see photos). It feels incredibly smooth and broken-in in the hand—no sticky lacquer feel here.
Stability: The finish chipping appears to have completely stabilized and isn't actively flaking. There are no cracks, no breaks, and no structural repairs whatsoever.
Hardware & Electronics
100% All Original: No modifications have been made to the pickups, wiring, pots, bridge, or tuners.
Playability: The neck is straight, the truss rod works exactly as it should, and the frets have plenty of life left in them. It sets up beautifully with low, fast action.

I want to point out a spot on the back of the guitar that looks slightly different than the rest of the guitar. This circular area appears slightly lower than the rest of the finish, and it’s more reflective than the rest of the finish. I’m not 100 perfect sure, but it looks like a someone may have touched up a wear spot with a shinier black paint. The very last photo is my best attempt to capture this area.
