1987 Gibson Les Paul Custom Lite Sunburst
Original Gibson chainsaw case included.
Up for sale is my 1987 Gibson Les Paul Custom Lite in the much harder-to-find Sunburst finish.
If you're familiar with these guitars, you already know they don't come up very often, especially in Sunburst. The guitar is in exceptionally clean condition for being nearly 40 years old and has clearly been well cared for throughout its life. I'm not going to call it mint, but it's about as nice of an example as you're likely to find.
The Custom Lite was Gibson's answer for players who wanted a Les Paul Custom without the bulk of a traditional Les Paul. It has a thinner body and is noticeably more comfortable to play, while still sounding every bit like a great Les Paul should. Additionally, the models from this time period come with a factory coil-split mini-toggle switch; a distinctive and highly desirable feature of the Les Paul Custom Lite. Original to the model and allows the humbuckers to switch to brighter, single-coil tones for added versatility.
Included is the original Gibson molded "chainsaw" case, which is getting harder to find on its own and is always nice to have with a guitar from this era.
This is a genuine vintage Gibson from a relatively short production run, not a reissue or modern recreation. Between the rarity of the model, the uncommon finish, the condition, and the original case, it's not one you see every day.
