Demo S.E. Shires TRQ13S C Trumpet w/Reeves Alignment

The S.E. Shires TRQ13S C trumpet is a versatile orchestral C trumpet with a rich, centered sound and the agility needed for demanding repertoire. This particular instrument is a demo model in new condition. It has been cleaned, serviced, and inspected at our shop, and it plays great. It also includes a Reeves Valve Alignment, a $295 value, performed by Bob Reeves Brass. The valve ports have been measured and corrected for optimal alignment, helping the horn respond more evenly, slot more securely, and play with the efficiency expected from a professional C trumpet.

The TRQ13S features the Shires Q13 bell, a 4 13/16" one-piece, hand-hammered yellow brass bell with a round brass bead. The Q13 bell has a centered taper that gives the instrument a full, rich sound with excellent clarity and flexibility. It has enough breadth for orchestral playing, while remaining nimble and focused enough for exposed passages and smaller ensemble work.

The Q leadpipe features a .347" venturi in heavyweight yellow brass, offering an open, responsive feel with well-defined slots. Combined with the .462" bore, the result is a C trumpet that feels balanced, secure, and free-blowing without becoming loose or unfocused.

Nickel-silver balusters and valve caps add brilliance and definition to the sound, while hand-lapped monel pistons provide smooth, reliable valve action. The silver-plated finish gives the instrument a clean, professional look, finished with the traditional S.E. Shires engraving.

This demo model includes the full manufacturer’s warranty, Q Series trumpet case, mouthpiece, care kit, and Reeves Valve Alignment.
