The Bad Cat Hot Cat 1x12 45W Combo is a hand-built all-tube amplifier designed for players who want everything from shimmering boutique cleans to aggressive high-gain saturation in a single compact combo. Originally introduced in 2005, the latest Hot Cat reimagines the award-winning design with expanded gain flexibility, improved switching, studio-quality reverb, and a transparent buffered effects loop.  

Powered by two EL34 power tubes and four 12AX7 preamp tubes, the Hot Cat delivers 45 watts of Class AB tube power through a custom 12” Celestion speaker housed in a Baltic birch cabinet. Its two-channel design includes independent gain and volume controls per channel, along with selectable Lo/Hi gain modes that provide four distinct voicings ranging from massive clean headroom and classic British crunch to articulate modern high gain tones with exceptional note definition and harmonic richness.  

Additional features include shared Bass, Mid, and Treble EQ controls, global Master and Presence controls, custom Bad Cat transformers, line out, multiple speaker outputs, footswitchable channel and gain-mode switching, and a studio-tuned digital reverb designed to complement both channels equally well. The fully buffered effects loop works seamlessly with both analog pedals and modern digital processors.  

Designed and built in Southern California, the Hot Cat combines boutique craftsmanship with modern versatility, making it equally suited for studio recording, touring rigs, pedal platforms, and high-performance live applications.
