2009 Taylor XXXV-TF 35th Anniversary Grand Concert Koa/Engelmann

This is one of the most unique modern Taylor acoustics we’ve had through the shop.

Up for sale is a 2009 Taylor XXXV-TF 35th Anniversary Grand Concert, a highly collectible limited-edition model built to celebrate Taylor’s 35th Anniversary. Featuring beautifully figured Hawaiian koa back and sides paired with an Engelmann spruce top, the XXXV-TF represents some of the finest craftsmanship and materials Taylor was producing during this era.

This was never intended to be just another production Taylor with upgraded cosmetics. The XXXV-TF was designed as a true showcase instrument, featuring extensive abalone appointments, a slotted headstock, elegant ebony accents, and an overall level of fit and finish that feels much closer to a custom-built instrument than a standard production acoustic.

Visually, this guitar is absolutely stunning in person. The koa exhibits incredible depth and chatoyance depending on the lighting, while the Engelmann spruce top provides a beautiful contrast that gives the instrument a refined, presentation-grade appearance.

We recently cleaned, restrung, and professionally set the guitar up here at the shop. It plays wonderfully with comfortable action, excellent balance, and the articulate, responsive voice that Grand Concert Taylors are known for.

Condition is very good overall. There is some lighter fret wear present, but nothing significant and nothing currently affecting playability. The top also shows some honest pick wear from regular use over the years. We intentionally chose not to aggressively buff or over-correct the guitar cosmetically, preferring instead to preserve its originality and allow it to show its age naturally.

One important note: this guitar does not include the original case, certificate, or accompanying paperwork.

Special anniversary models like the XXXV-TF rarely surface for sale, and many have found their way into long-term collections. Finding one in clean, original condition has become increasingly difficult, making this a particularly appealing example for both players and collectors.

A truly special Taylor that combines premium tonewoods, exceptional craftsmanship, and a level of visual elegance rarely seen in standard production acoustics.
