Vintage 1965 Kay Vanguard II K332 Guitar with Original Case

Here's a really cool Kay Vanguard II from 1965 (pots are dated) that comes with the original case. In overall good condition with the expected bumps and scratches, but nothing major. I've owned this almost 20 years and I am the second owner. Everything on this guitar is original. Both pickups and all electronics work and sound great. These guitars were not grounded to the bridge, so there is some ground noise when not being played. The original owner ran a small wire from the jack to the bridge to help with the grounding and I've kept it that way. The front pickup seems to have a little more noise than the bridge and might just have a cold solder joint that needs to be re-flowed. It never bothered me, as the noise disappears when being played. This was recently restrung with .09s and plays great. The wooden saddle is missing the height adjustment wheels, but the saddle stays at a constant height which is comfortable to play. The next owner can adjust this, if so desired. The truss could probably be tightened just a little, but the relief in it was fine for me. This does not have the tremolo arm or the bridge cover. A great, rare guitar that has really nice inlays, bound neck and cool looking pickups. The original chipboard case shows its age, but is still sturdy. From a smoke free home.
