Full DescriptionThe Duesenberg Senior 52 is a beautifully simple guitar, and this example adds a less common factory pickup configuration to that stripped-down design. The chambered mahogany body, arched maple top, set mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard give it a solid, responsive feel with a nice balance of warmth, snap, and sustain. It has the look of a stripped-down goldtop, but the construction and hardware are pure Duesenberg: clean, thoughtful, and very well executed.
This particular guitar features the factory Duesenberg Little Toaster pickup, rather than the more common Domino-only setup. The Little Toaster gives the guitar a clear, open, vintage-inspired voice with plenty of chime, bite, and note definition. It keeps the guitar direct and simple, but not limited. The 3-way sound selector, volume, and tone controls give it more usable range than the single-pickup layout might suggest.
The hardware is also part of the appeal. The guitar features nickel Duesenberg Z-Tuners, nickel control knobs, a nickel Duesenberg wraparound bridge, and Duesenberg’s distinctive banjo-style nickel armrest, which adds both visual character and real playing comfort.
