The Grand Canyon greatly expands on the capabilities of its predecessor. While it keeps the three-second delay time, the Grand Canyon offers 12 effect types (as opposed to the Canyon's 10): Echo, Mod, Multi, Reverse, DMM (which is fashioned after the classic Deluxe Memory Man tone), Tape, Reverb, Pitch, Shim, Sample/Hold, Drum, and Doubler. The Drum effect is brand-new to the Grand Canyon and emulates the magnetic drum echo of the Benson Echorec. The Doubler makes use of the new pedal's stereo outputs to make a left-to-right stereo spread or add heft to a mono signal. Meanwhile, the Looper function—which was limited to 62 seconds on the Canyon—now has 16 minutes of total recording time, allowing for unlimited overdubs and sonic experimentation.
