*This is a used guitar in very good condition
*This is a consignment item
*Includes vintage chipboard case
*Observations: This cool little guitar, roughly the same shape as a Gibson LG-2 or B-25, was built in 1965, during the era when Epiphone guitars were still being built in the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
There is a lot of playing wear but overall the condition is very good for its age. There are lots of pick scratches and small dings and gouges on all its surfaces and a few larger dings and dents here and there, as well as a lot of buckle rash on the back, some of which has worn down nearly to the wood. A rectangular finish smear on the back near the neck block indicates an area where a large piece of tape may have been left on for many years before finally being removed. There is extensive finish checking as well as a few finish gouges on the back of the neck. Despite these cosmetic imperfections, there are no cracks and structurally, everything looks solid. A vintage chipboard case is included and while it is in fair condition, it is functional.
The original adjustable bridge has been replaced by a newer rosewood belly bridge with a drop-in compensated bone saddle, and it looks like it has possibly had a refret at some point in its life. The frets have some wear but overall feel very good. The original tuners are here and they work well. Playability is good, with medium action, and there is room for the saddle to be lowered if desired. The tone is sweet and intimate, making this guitar a lot of fun to play.
