1989 Marshall JCM 50W Tube Head – UK Made – Bletchley Era

For sale is a vintage 1989 Marshall JCM 800 Model 2205 50-watt split-channel tube head, made in Bletchley, England.

This is the later vertical-input version with channel switching, effects loop, spring reverb, and master volume. Classic late-80s Marshall tone with everything from articulate crunch to saturated hard rock/metal gain.

Amp has its original transformers and has been professionally maintained over the years. I had it serviced about 3 months ago- Filter caps have been updated with LCR caps for reliability, and the amp currently has a matched pair of JJ EL34 power tubes installed.

Cosmetically the amp is very clean for its age and has not been heavily modified or hacked up like many JCM 800s from this era.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition with normal cosmetic wear consistent with age. Please review all photos carefully. Amp functions properly and sounds excellent. I have used it limitedly for past ten years and it’s time to get it to someone who will use it - too good to sit in my studio - I have original foot switch but it’s missing the decals . Amp is missing the plastic caps around the handle- I love effect loop in my set up and this Marshall delivers that- additionally clean channel bleed is not an issue on this - I had that worked on and used the clean channel in all my set ups
