1988 Marshall JCM800 Model 2205 50-Watt Tube Head – Made in England

For sale is a vintage Marshall JCM800 Model 2205 50-watt split-channel tube head, made in Bletchley, England. Internal markings appear to date the amp to 1988.

This is the later-era 2205 featuring two-channel operation, master volume, spring reverb and effects loop. It delivers classic JCM800 character, from articulate British crunch to saturated hard-rock and metal tones.

The amp is in exceptionally clean cosmetic condition for its age, as shown in the photos. The tolex, front grille, gold control panels and Marshall logo all present extremely well.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition with normal cosmetic wear consistent with age. Please review all photos carefully. Amp functions properly and sounds excellent. I have used it limitedly for past ten years and it’s time to get it to someone who will use it - too good to sit in my studio - I have original foot switch but it’s missing the decals . Amp is missing the plastic caps around the handle- I love effect loop in my set up and this Marshall delivers that- additionally clean channel bleed is not an issue on this - I had that worked on and used the clean channel in all my set ups

This is a great player-grade vintage Marshall with the tone and feel these amps are known for.
