Selling my 2023 left-handed Gibson SG Standard '61 in Vintage Cherry. Genuine US-made Gibson comes with the original brown Gibson hardshell case (excellent condition, gold hardware, plush red lining).
Specs:
- Solid mahogany body with gloss nitro finish
- Mahogany neck, SlimTaper profile
- Rosewood fingerboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays
- 22 frets, 24.75" scale
- Burstbucker 61R / 61T humbuckers
- ABR-1 bridge with aluminium stop bar tailpiece
- Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons
- Black 5-ply pickguard
- Nickel hardware
- Left handed (genuine lefty, not a flipped righty)
Upgrades:
- Professionally cut and installed bone nut by my luthier (replacing the factory nut). Tuning stability and tone both improved noticeably.
Condition: Excellent overall. Plays beautifully, frets are crisp, electronics all work as they should, no fret wear to speak of. Currently in original configuration with no additional modifications, screw holes, or routing.
A few honest notes so you know exactly what you're getting:
- There is some light finish misting on the back of the body and the back of the neck. This appears to be a finish curing characteristic that some 2024 Gibsons have shown, not playing wear. I've tried to capture it in the photos but it's genuinely hard to show in a picture; in person it looks like very faint cloudiness in the gloss under certain light. Doesn't affect playability at all.
- Two small dinks: one on the back of the neck and one on the bottom edge of the body near the input jack / control area. Both are minor and shown in the close-up photos.
- A small round blemish on the top between the bridge and the tailpiece. This is from a Duesenberg Les Trem that was installed for a period and has since been removed. The Les Trem is a drop-in unit (no routing or screw holes), so this surface blemish is the only trace. Original stop bar tailpiece is reinstated.
Comes with the original Gibson hardshell case, candy (manual, cloth, certificate where applicable), and I'll pack it carefully for shipping.
Reason for sale: thinning the collection. Genuine lefty SGs in this spec are not common, so if you're a left-handed player looking for the classic '61 spec SG, this is the one.
Any questions, please ask. Happy to take additional photos of any specific area.
