Custom Shop Historic '64 Reissue Trini Lopez finished in classic Ebony. It is Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged and is completely covered in lacquer checking that looks fantastics as it catches the light (see photos where we've tried to demonstrate this).

In terms of condition, the guitar looks practically mint from the front and sides. The back of the body has a few blemishes and signs of light touch up. The back of the neck has had some of the common finish flaking that can occur on some Murphy Lab guitars due to repeat friction of the hand over the finish - but this is not really felt when playing (as the neck has an aged feel and lacquer checking from factory) and it is only visible on very close inspection as there's some areas of touch-up which hides it well. Further flaking may occur due to use/handling and buyers should be comfortable with this, as if purchasing the guitar they are agreeing to a policy of 'no returns' if any further flaking occurs when in their ownership. The guitar has been priced low to reflect the flaking which is common across many Murphy Lab guitars.

Based on thorough scans of the coveted original models, the 1964 Trini Lopez Standard Reissue gives you an authentic vintage ownership experience from the chunky '64 neck profile to the unique trapeze tailpiece. While Trini Lopez sadly passed away in 2020 his namesake model has been favoured by artists such as Dave Grohl and Noel Gallagher.

The Trini Lopez has many distinctive features including diamond f-holes, diamond inlays, rolled vintage neck binding, period correct appointments, Trapeze tailpiece with Indian Rosewood insert and Trini Lopez badge, 60’s Kluson ‘six on a strap’ tuners and the classic headstock design used on the Firebird.

Other features include the Maple semi-hollow body with lightweight centre-block, Mahogany neck with comfortable mid-60s profile, Indian Rosewood fingerboard with 12” radius, Kluson tuners and signature Trapeze bridge.

It's fitted with a pair of superb sounding Custombucker pickups which were designed as a higher quality pickup that has a truer "vintage" sound. It also has 3-way switching, plus volume and tone controls for each pickup. The internals are all premium including Black Cat Caps and Vintage Taper pots. This is a guitar that sounds as good as it looks, with big iconic Gibson tone! Finally it comes complete with its original hard case, COA and paperwork.
