We didn't find a remarkable difference when we compared this 2012 Gibson Memphis ES-330 to the vintage examples we have in stock.  This is a killer guitar that really measures up.

The critical structural difference between this guitar and an ES-335 is that the ES-330 has fully hollow construction with no solid center block. The ES-335 was specifically designed with that center block to control feedback at high stage volumes. The ES-330 was not. It is a fully hollow guitar, so you get more acoustic resonance, more bloom, more of the guitar's natural wood character coming through in the amplified signal, and the lively, dimensional quality that a fully hollow body produces and a center block eliminates. At low and moderate volumes, the ES-330 works remarkably well completely unplugged — acoustically quite a bit louder than any solidbody, and in a small room can be enjoyed with a quiet to moderate voice.

When Gibson Memphis set out to reissue the 1959 ES-330, they went all in — obtaining an original 1959 example and painstakingly measuring, playing, and listening to it in order to capture every possible detail. Having 1950s-correct specs was so important to Gibson that after digitizing the shape of the original, they even made new press plates for the reissue to totally nail it. The result is the most accurate ES-330 Gibson has produced in the modern era, built at the Gibson Memphis facility — the plant that produced all of Gibson's hollow and semi-hollow instruments until its closure in 2019. The VOS treatment delivers aged nickel parts and a low-sheen finish with period-correct coloring, and there is no paper label inside — the FON stamped on the inside of the back serves as the serial number, correct to the original 1959 specification.

The guitar sports a factory Bigsby tailpiece.. The Memphis P-90 dog-ear pickups — scatter-wound and underwound specifically for vintage warmth — read 7.11k neck and 7.18k bridge, closely matched and correct for the voicing Gibson described as capturing the tonal range from warm and silky to raucous and twangy. No-wire ABR-1 bridge, Kluson Deluxe tuners, bone nut, Switchcraft 3-way toggle. Mahogany neck in the 1959 C profile at .888" at the first fret and .990" at the twelfth, rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays at 12" radius, 22 frets, cream binding. At 6 lbs 7.5 oz this is a remarkably light instrument. Action set at 2/32" on both strings at the twelfth fret.

Near mint condition throughout. Certificate of Authenticity and original Gibson hardshell case included.
