Here we have an ultra rare vintage Ludwig Jazz Combo 3 x 13 inch snare drum.

Mint condition!

Pre-serial number keystone badge, from 1962. Original red factory date stamp April 3 1962. Keystone badge and grommet are in excellent condition, no loose areas or issues.

Very similar to the vintage Ludwig Downbeat snare drum but made in far fewer numbers. When's the last time you saw one of these, if ever? The drum was produced as part of a compact drum from Ludwig, designed for portability and space-saving needs. Ludwig made very few of these drums and only a handful are remaining. My research shows that only a few of these are currently on the market for sale.

Very original drum in mint condition. No damage, no broken or missing parts.

Original silver sparkle finish (original wrap no re-wrap). Beautiful sparkle finish that is even, no color fade or color differentiation. Tight wrap seam no lifting. All original chrome hardware in excellent condition, no rust or pitting. Original offset lugs (sale style as the elusive vintage Ludwig Downbeat snare drum). Original throw off and butt plate. And original chrome over brass (COB) hoops -- these are the last of the vintage Ludwig drums with original COB hoops. This is a muffler-delete drum -- meaning that this series of drum was never made an internal muffler. Shell interior and bearing edges are in excellent condition, no issues. Clean nuts and screws. Original white factory interior paint. No added holes in the shell and the drum shell is in round.
