This guitar has a Grand Auditorium Body with a Venetian Cutaway, Western Red Cedar Top, Rosewood Back and Sides, and the legendary Taylor Expression Pickup System. The electronics have a bass, treble, and volume controls and take a 9V battery. It includes the hardshell case (one latch is missing the clip) and all documents as well as the truss rod wrench.

You get the beautiful rich bass and chimey high end that competes with $4,000 rosewood back guitars, but with a really unique flavor and nuance from the cedar. As you will see in the detailed pictures, this guitar is in perfect working condition, with some honest and superficial play wear. It has been used lovingly and has all the mojo you could want. A few dings and such on the top and edges, and the neck is well broken-in.

Regarding playability: it is currently setup with very low action (about 2.25mm bass side). It has a beautifully level fretboard with a straight neck, a perfectly cut nut, a solid bridge with no gaps or bellying, smooth tuners, and it is intonated beautifully. A luthier recently gave it a fret level and they are in perfect shape with plenty of life left (see pics).

The Taylor Expression System is a wonderful advancement in guitar electronics that really does justice to the sound of the guitar through an amp or PA. The three soft-touch knobs on the outside of the guitar allow you to adjust Bass, Treble, and Volume right on the guitar. Sounds spectacular whether you perform in small rooms or auditoriums. Works perfectly on this guitar just as it should.

You can find sold listings of these from good-excellent condition anywhere between $1,600 and $2,200. Since this one is just about as good as it gets and comes with the original hardshell case, I am firm on my asking price! Feel free to ask any questions not answered in the ad.

I take packing guitars for shipping very seriously so it will be done properly. Please note that for buyers outside of the United States, additional customs, duties, or taxes may be added.
