Pro custom recone, using vintage style kits, custom made for original tone and high output. I hired a firm to recreate JBL kits as they were when they were originally made.
These are custom recreations using the kraft paper formers that made these drivers famous at the time, and for some reason, fell out of favor.
These were the secret weapon that made these the loudest, most compliant and efficient drivers of their day, and I don't believe any have surpassed these.
Don't take a chance on vintage drivers that are nearing 60 years old, if you don't have to, as these are what those sounded like, new!
The marks on the coils you see are there to guage the coil depth and ensure the coils are far enough into the gap.
Original JBL's were created by humans, using machines, a combo that made them possible to make with unmatched precision in the thousands, but in this day, there's only a human here to get the job done. But each driver is tested and vetted.
Check the video below, those are the tests made to both of the speakers I had available. The first one sold within a half hour, this the last. But there will be more!
