For sale - Here's a 1956 Fender P-Bass in original 2-Tone Sunburst finish. Serial
#15619. Hands down one of the Best 'players' pieces I have come across. This is an original '56
Precision Bass, that's been routed for traditional split coil P-Bass pickups.
(This originally would have one single coil pickup before changing in '57.). If you look at the pic's, the route is right below where the original single coil cavity still is. The pots and pickguard are of course also changed but pots are 50s vintage . The bass had another bridge on which left extra holes, the original bridge is back on it. The bridge cover is newer. The rest is original. Neck date is 11-56. Inside the pickup cavity is a light pencil mark that is very hard to see but I believe it may be a portion of original 56 pencil date. Playability is fantastic, with easy playing low action. The neck really plays and feels incredible. The pickups were changed some time after 56. There are original 1957 vintage fender humbucker (not re-issues) Output reading is 11.2 ohms… Extremely versatile Vintage Fender Bass
