Paiste FLAT RIDES have a vaunted place in drum history - and with good reason. They have an inimitable clean, glassy, crystalline, and controlled tone. And that is exactly the case with this very hard-to-find, EARLIER Paiste Signature 20” Flat Ride.
This is the kind of cymbal that you can erect a palette around - with this being the dominant color.
As many of you may know the absence of a bell gives a Flat Ride control both in volume and overtones - add the glassy shimmer of the famous Paiste Signature series and voila!
The 20” Signature Flat. And it’s no longer made!
Strong, crystalline stick attack. Surprisingly dark leanings, clean glassy shimmering Earlier Signature wash that is very focused and defined.
2454 grams. Strong enough for an attack. Not clanky. Very Chime-like attack in this one.
Excellent condition for being over 30 years old! No issues. Beautiful deep patina that dries it and mellows it perfectly!
One of the earlier Paistes in the Signature line.
This was a hard cymbal to find back when it was being produced.
Damn near impossible to find today.
