Very rare boutique fuzz/distortion/boost pedal built by Chuck French of Wovenhand / Planes Mistaken For Stars circles in Denver. This is the dual footswitch version of the Gene Hackman circuit — a super unique germanium/JFET design that can move from lower-gain vintage-style germanium textures into gnarly saturated fuzz/distortion territory.

The pedal features:

  • 2-stage germanium/JFET gain structure
  • dual footswitch design for low/high gain operation
  • 4-way selectable bandwidth/clipping voicing
  • massive low-end capability
  • articulate but aggressive fuzz/distortion character
  • handmade enclosure artwork

This thing excels at:

  • sludge
  • doom
  • post-metal
  • blown-out garage fuzz
  • saturated shoegaze textures
  • heavy boosted amp tones

It can do everything from lower-gain germanium breakup to super saturated fuzz-adjacent distortion while still maintaining note clarity.

Built in very small quantities and difficult to find information on now. There were rumors of players from Primitive Man using these.

Condition:
Fully functional with cosmetic wear from use as shown in photos. Please review all images carefully.

Selling because I’m simplifying my touring/studio setup.
