The D-28 Authentic 1937 Aged brings that legacy to life with period-correct specifications, an Adirondack spruce top, Guatemalan rosewood back and sides, and forward-shifted hand-scalloped X-bracing for the powerful, open tone that made the originals legendary. Built entirely with hide glue and constructed by hand, it features a body profile modeled after Dreadnoughts from the 1930s and ’40s, along with an Authentic 1937 neck barrel and heel.
Martin’s Vintage Tone System (VTS) is used to thermally age the top and braces for the rich, broken-in sound of a well-loved vintage guitar. What sets this model apart is its meticulously aged finish, complete with subtle checking and character marks that give it the look and feel of an instrument that’s been played for generations.
