Personal Thoughts:
This is a really appealing Murphy Lab R9 and one that stands out nicely from the standard run. The key thing here is that it is a Made 2 Measure example, with the main talking point being the handpicked top. That makes a big difference on a guitar like this, because the whole appeal of a good ’59 reissue is often tied up in how convincing and attractive the top looks, and an M2M build like this gives it that extra bit of individuality. Cherry Sunburst is a great fit as well, as it has all the right late-’50s burst character but with a bit more warmth and vibrancy than some of the faded options. The Murphy Lab Light Aged treatment suits it nicely too, because it gives the guitar a slightly broken-in, more vintage feel without covering up what makes the top special in the first place. A very smart Custom Shop Les Paul and a great example of an M2M spec being used for the right reason.

Condition Report:
Mint condition. Murphy Lab Light Aged finish is factory correct as part of the original spec. Presents exceptionally well overall, with no noteworthy wear to mention.
