Sylvan Banjos 5-string open-back banjo

I'm very excited to have this brand new build for your consideration in my Reverb store. I've been busy with custom orders and it's been well over a year since I've had one to list. This is my first using sassafras for the rim wood and I'm very pleased with the result! Slightly softer than walnut, it produces a similar warm tone...coupled with a rolled brass tone ring, this banjo has a surprising amount of projection and volume. It has a lot of pop! I used a dark grain filler and stain on both the sassafras rim and mahogany neck, for a glass smooth finish.
