The Impulse 61 by Novation is a super-responsive, expressive MIDI keyboard that features a tonne of fully assignable controls and has been designed for musicians who love to play keys. This keyboard seamlessly integrates with Ableton Live, Pro Tools and Logic Pro as well as other major music editing software.

The Impulse 61 has been specifically designed to let you create fully expressive performances with ultra-responsive, semi-weighted action keys with aftertouch. The full-sized keys adapt to the instrument you’re playing such as organs, synthesisers and pianos. While playing the MIDI keyboard, special High Rate Scan (HRS) technology scans the keyboard 10,000 times per second to capture every subtle nuance of your performance.

The Impulse keyboard allows you to mix and sculpt your sound with the endless smooth-action rotary knobs, low-profile 45mm faders plus loads of assignable buttons and a custom LCD screen with menu buttons so you can navigate the keyboards settings and functions. Every control works seamlessly alongside your preferred DAW and can be mapped to absolutely any parameter.

Eight pressure-sensitive pads allow you to trigger drum samples in real-time and can also be used for rolling beats, looping drum samples and creating arpeggios. The eight pads also function as multicoloured clip launchers in Ableton Live so you can see when a clip’s loaded (yellow), playing (green) or recording (red).

This MIDI keyboard controller is class-compliant, and USB-bus powered, so you can plug the keyboard directly into your PC/Mac and get playing straight out the box without the need for a power supply. The Impulse is gig-ready with a 5-pin MIDI output on the rear of the unit that lets you connect to your favourite synth/module.
