Up for sale is a stunning boutique Sugar Percussion 5.5x14" Etched Aluminum Snare Drum in fantastic condition. If you know Sugar Percussion, you know their uncompromising build quality and distinct aesthetic approach to custom drum building. This is a phenomenal, highly articulate instrument that offers a massive dynamic range.Shell & Sound Profile:Unlike mass-produced, thin-walled metal snares, this features Sugar’s signature thick, rolled aluminum shell. The raw, industrial etched finish looks incredible under stage lights. Because of the shell density, it has a surprisingly warm, full-bodied low-mid fundamental pitch with an impressive, laser-focused center attack. Overtones are sweet, faint, and highly controlled, giving it an organic, wood-adjacent decay that records beautifully.Specifications & Hardware:

  • Dimensions: 14" Diameter x 5.5" Depth
  • Shell Construction: Thick rolled aluminum with raw etched finish
  • Lug Layout: 8-lug configuration for maximum shell resonance and breathing room
  • Hoops: Single-flanged hoops with classic vintage-style clips
  • Condition: Excellent condition. The shell, bearing edges, and raw hardware are completely clean, showing only minimal, ordinary signs of standard play wear. Completely original with no modifications.

This snare drum is a true boutique powerhouse that belongs in a studio or on a stage where its unique voice can be heard.

I've only used it sparingly at my home. No bumps or scratches to note.
