UPDATE: Some are concerned about the reshaping of the headstock - 1.this is not an import fakery item - it is a genuine 2001 USA Gibson made guitar - 2. what's in a headstock shaping ? nothing more than an aesthetic - 3. i am not a novice but rather quite experienced with guitars and have been playing many many years now - i know my stuff and know what makes a great instrument in one's hands - this guitar , as it is , is a superb handling / playing instrument or i wouldn't have owned it period. 4. the damage that happened to the headstock years ago was horrible chipping / gouging / scarring that needed repair - the reshaping was the best solution and this guitar in the skilled hands of a seasoned player isn't going to care one iota of it once they've experienced playing it. I'm sorry some of you don't like the reshaping - but that doesn't retract from this being a 25 year old collectible piece that sings beautifully and that will not fight you for the note. This guitar is a winner - sorry if some of you can't appreciate that - i am not going to give it away - it is worth every penny i am asking for it ... on with the show !

For Sale : 2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus : This guitar is listed as very good in condition but it is actually better than that being more like a Very Good + rating . Yes , the headstock has been reshaped due to damage incurred years ago to the backside of the headstock - only the shape has changed - it doesn't affect the playability or performance. The guitar has a few upgrades : a newer wiring harness wired to 50's spec - Alnico 3 pickups unpotted made to my specs by rosepickups.com ( no longer in business ) and these pups are fantastically sweet sounding - the tuners are Hipshot grip lock locking - the bridge is a Wayne Compton one piece aluminum with tone chamber 12" radiused bridge that insanely adds tone and increased playability. There about three small dings nothing major on the face of the guitar - there are no dings to the back of the guitar or to the neck as well as there are no repairs or cracks to the heel and neck/headstock location where these often times are found. The weight is about 9.1 lbs. In short , this is a collectible guitar now that is in way better than players grade condition - you have to have this in your hands to completely appreciate it. This sale is limited to the lower 48 contiguous United States - no foreign purchase will be accepted and no foreign shipping will be provided. PayPal payment preferred. Thank you.
