Well loved example of a classic. This 1972 Guild F50 has seen plenty of action and has the looks to prove it, but it plays and sounds incredible. One of the most even and balanced sounding acoustic guitars I’ve ever played. Spruce top and quilted maple back and sides, this model has an arched, unbraced back which cuts down the boominess typically associated with jumbos and gives it a very unique voice. Sounds exactly like the acoustic guitar on Tom Perry’s “Wildflowers”, which was recorded using a Gibson J-200 with the same construction as this.

Please inspect the photos, definitely a player-grade piece with lots of checking, yellowing of the lacquer and binding, etc. Some of the binding at the heel and end pin has begun to crumble, but it’s been stable and not deteriorated further in the time I’ve owned it.

The only major issue of note is the neck angle. At some point in the future this would benefit from a neck reset, but currently the action is perfect and the playability is excellent. To accomplish this, the saddle has been lowered down about as far as it will go, and a previous owner had all of the high frets beyond the neck joint leveled so as to not cause the strings to fret out with the saddle being down so low. A clever solution as the guitar is fully and comfortably playable as a result, and those frets aren’t used anyhow. That said, I’ve enjoyed playing this guitar immensely and it’s essentially a non-issue for the foreseeable future - just something to be aware of, and considering how good the guitar sounds currently, it will only sound better with a proper break angle over the saddle. The rest of the frets are on the low side but still have some life in them.

Has a professionally installed LR Baggs M1 soundhole pickup and a K&K pure mini transducer pickup, both wired to a stereo output jack at the end pin. Use a TRS/stereo to mono 1/4” cable to send to use both pickups separately! Regular TS cable gets you the M1 by itself.

Includes the original case in rough but fully functional shape. Original handle is broken but will be included.

Hate to see this one go but I’ve got to thin the herd. Reach out with any questions! Reasonable offers welcome.
