A genuine 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in remarkably clean original condition. Serial A13848, AB763 circuit, hand-wired in Fullerton, California. Serial number and chassis stamp confirm 1966 production.

What Makes This One Special:

For a 60-year-old amplifier, the cosmetic condition is extraordinary. The black tolex shows virtually no significant wear, scuffs, or tears. The silver grille cloth is clean with no fading, sagging, or damage. The Fender logo, control panel, knobs, and chrome corner protectors are all crisp and well preserved.

More importantly, everything inside is original. This was verified by Maketune, a respected amp repair shop, and a signed service report is included confirming all original parts. The original Fender-labeled Oxford/Jensen speaker is intact and unmodified — a rare find, as most amps of this age have had speaker swaps.

The Honest Story — Please Read:

This amp is being sold as a collector’s piece, not a player-grade amp. Because every component is original — including the filter capacitors — the caps are at end of life and the amp exhibits noticeable noise/hum. To use this for playing, a cap job is required. I deliberately chose not to recap it in order to preserve the amplifier’s all-original status for the next owner.

The only modification: the original power plug had melted and was replaced with a high-quality safety plug. The original plug is included with the amp, though re-installing it is not recommended for safety reasons.

Service Report:

• AC Input: 117V

• Heater Voltage: AC 6.39V

• B+ Voltage: DC 420V

• Bias Voltage: DC -36.5V

• Vacuum tubes test OK

• All parts original

Included:

• The amplifier

• Original 2-button footswitch (Vib / Rev)

• Replaced original power plug

• Service report

Who This Amp Is For:

This is the right amp for collectors who want a clean, unmolested, all-original 1966 Deluxe Reverb to preserve as-is — or for the player who appreciates that a simple cap job (a standard, reversible service) is all that stands between this amp and authentic 1966 Blackface tone, with everything else intact and unmodified.

Most “all-original” amps you’ll find from this era have at least had the speaker swapped or caps replaced. This one has neither.
