The Gibson Hummingbird 100th Anniversary from 1994 is one of the special anniversary models produced by Gibson to mark the 100th anniversary of the company. The Hummingbird has been one of the best-known and most popular square-shoulder dreadnoughts since the early 1960s and is still synonymous with the warm, big and at the same time very musical Gibson sound.

Equipped with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the Gibson Hummingbird 100th Anniversary delivers exactly the characteristic sound for which older Gibson acoustic guitars are so appreciated. The tone is open, woody and extremely resonant with powerful mids, a warm bass foundation and the typical slightly dry trebles. This guitar in particular has a very mature and well-rehearsed sound character with an enormous amount of charm and personality.

In terms of sound, this Hummingbird is really something special. The response is direct, the mids are beautifully present and the overall sound is very open and musical. An inspiring vintage Gibson with a great sound and outstanding character.

The overall condition is good. The guitar has many cracks in the lacquer as well as traces of playing in the form of plectrum marks and minor signs of use, which gives it a wonderful authentic vintage look. There is a larger crack in the lacquer on the back, which was professionally filled by our luthier. However, this is only a crack in the lacquer. The guitar is completely crack-free.

The action of the G-string has been replaced once. Otherwise, the guitar is in its original condition.

The Gibson Hummingbird 100th Anniversary no longer comes with the case originally supplied. Instead, it is supplied in a high-quality original Gibson Banner case, which is also used for high-priced Gibson acoustic guitars and Custom Shop models.

The guitar has been carefully checked and optimally adjusted by us. The neck curvature and string action are perfectly adjusted so that the Gibson Hummingbird 100th Anniversary can be played cleanly and without buzzing across the entire fretboard.

The string action is 2.5 mm on the low E-string and 1.7 mm on the high E-string, measured at the 12th fret.
