1985 Fender Precision Bass PB62-55 in Metallic Pink, with Hardcase - Very good condition

This 1985 Fender Japan Precision Bass is a PB62-55, the mid-tier ’62-style reissue model shown in the 1985 Fender Japan catalogue. These early Fender Japan reissue basses have a superb reputation for good reason, and this one is especially interesting thanks to its rare metallic pink finish. Fender Japan’s 1985 catalogue lists the standard PB62-55 colours as T, BLK, VWH and CAR, so this example sits outside the normal catalogue finishes for the model. Combined with our earlier inspection showing the finish to be untouched under the guard and neck, it presents as a very unusual and highly appealing non-catalogue example.

Condition
This bass is in very good condition overall. It does have a few small dings and minor cosmetic marks to the finish in places, as you would expect from a well-used instrument of this age, but nothing that affects its playability, performance or structural integrity. It remains a very smart and highly presentable example overall, and the finish still looks fantastic. It also comes with a hardcase, making it an especially appealing package.
