Up for sale, a 1970s Electro Sound Co Big Muff Sustainar in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Produced by Elk, this faithful Japanese-made iteration of the V1 "Triangle" Big Muff by Electro-Harmonix is one of the most sought after early Muff copycats, best known for its extensive use by guitarist and vocalist Wata from the band Boris.

An early example with "Big Muff" silkscreen script (before the pedal was somewhat confusingly rebranded Super Fuzz), the sound is ripping, thick and surprisingly detailed. This fuzz captures the hallmarks of a V1 Muff with aplomb, loaded with its original quartet of NEC A733 silicon transistors.

The circuit is untouched, with a bevy of ceramic disc caps and carbon comp resistors, and the trio of pots are original as well. The folded aluminum enclosure has a similar form factor to an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff, and the graphics are exceptionally clean, with sparingly little wear on the enclosure edges. The original trio of knobs are intact too.
