Jazz Box Heaven. Here is a Levin Model 320, made in Sweden in 1960, in Excellent Condition, with a fast, fluid action, a sweet voice and just the right amount of weather checking to give it that graceful patina we all are drawn to. Like all Levin guitars, this Model 320 is exceptionally well built with a fit and finish of the highest quality, and classic appointments throughout.
The Levin 320 is a classic jazz arch top, featuring a hand carved top and back, an ebony fretboard and bridge, and 16 1/2” lower bout. The sound is smooth and well balanced across the fretboard, with a warm bass and a well articulated mid-range and treble. The neck has a slim D profile and plays easily up and down the fretboard. The truss rod works properly and the neck is dead straight. The cutaway allows easy access to the highest frets.
Here are the important specs:

As a bonus, a prior owner has added a pair of K&K Soundboard transducers, attached to the underside of the top, at each interior edge of the f-hole, adjacent to the bridge. They exit through a conventional 1/4” jack, below the endpin. The transducers are passive and there are no volume or tone controls. Your options are to plug directly in to an amplifier and use the amp controls to set your balances, or to route the signal through a DI box, such as an LR Baggs Para Acoustic, and use it as a combination Volume and Tone control, either to an amp or a PA system.
Coming into the shop, the guitar was in fundamentally great shape. We gave it a thorough cleaning, filled a couple of small dents on the top, touched up some flaking finish along the rim of the back, cleaned and polished the tailpiece, and strung it up with a set of Thomastik Jazz Swing Flatwounds (.011-.047). The guitar has no cracks, splits or open seams. The only notable bits of damage are some minor deterioration of the pick guard’s bottom left corner, and some finish flaking along the bass side of the fretboard extension, just where it meets the body. There is a bit of missing lacquer along the center stripe of the back of the neck, where two differing types of wood expanded at different rates. Only that lacquer has suffered; the neck is solid. As with all Swedish guitars, there is a considerable amount of weather checking, but if anything, it adds a kind of sparkle to the finish. This is one gorgeous guitar.
