Lovies Guitars is excited to present this 1998 Gibson Les Paul Special Studio Double Cut Electric Guitar finished in Cherry Red. This stripped-down, player-focused model from Gibson combines the lightweight comfort and upper fret access of a double cutaway design with classic Les Paul tone and attitude.

Built with a solid mahogany body and set mahogany neck, this guitar delivers punchy mids, strong sustain, and a raw, resonant feel that makes these late-’90s Special Studio models such great working-player instruments. The double cut body design allows excellent upper fret access while maintaining the unmistakable Gibson response and feel.

This example has been upgraded with a set of DiMarzio Virtual PAF humbuckers, offering vintage-inspired warmth, clarity, and articulation with improved balance and reduced noise. The tuners have also been upgraded to Grovers for enhanced tuning stability.

The Cherry Red finish shows plenty of honest wear and player character, giving this guitar a broken-in vibe that fits its aggressive rock-and-roll personality perfectly.

Condition is rated at 8.9/10 – Very Good. There is heavy aging on the hardware, gouges on the top beneath the bridge area, light surface scratches, light buckle rash, and finish cracks on the treble side of the neck. Overall, it remains a solid, great-playing Gibson with tons of character and upgraded tone.
