Comments:
The Les Paul Traditional line was initially introduced to preserve heritage build techniques when the flagship Les Paul Standard adopted modern changes like chambered bodies and asymmetrical necks. This 2013 model year marks a major historic milestone for the Traditional series: for the first time since the early 1980s, Gibson completely removed "Swiss cheese" weight-relief holes and acoustic chambering, and reverted to a 100% solid, heavy mahogany back. This structural pivot makes the 2013 run highly coveted by purists seeking historically accurate sustain and density without paying Custom Shop prices. Unlike previous years that used ceramic or generic magnets, the 2013 variant pairs vintage-voiced '57 Classic pickups with genuine Orange Drop tone capacitors to mimic iconic late-1950s wiring setups.
