People, what can I really tell you here that the photos don’t already whisper in your ear like bad decisions at closing time?

This is a Collings CJ-41 SB. Sitka spruce top. East Indian rosewood back and sides that look like they were carved from a 200-year-old whiskey cabinet in a governor’s office somewhere south of Memphis. Abalone trim everywhere your eyes land. Waverly tuners. Ebony board and bridge. The whole affair wrapped up tighter than Fort Knox.

Now let’s discuss the sound.

Some acoustics bark. Some boom. This one blooms.
Big low end without the mud. Clear mids. Trebles that ring like church bells on Sunday morning.

And unlike some boutique acoustics that feel stiff and clinical, this thing has soul. It responds to a light touch but will absolutely throw hands if you lean into it with a flatpick.

Condition? As clean as my reputation suggest.
Setup? Naturally.
Frets? Strong and proud.
Case? Original.
Price? Reflective of the fact that these are now over $9K new, and frankly, worth every irritating penny.

Those old stories about swordsmiths folding steel a thousand times until the blade became legend. Bill Collings approached guitars the same way. Precision bordering on obsession.
