I purchased this guitar I call Wild Blue in 2010 – my first Nikita. I have other Nikita guitars, plus one I made with an extra Kintia body I got from James the builder.
Wild Blue came with Seymour Duncan pickups which are in the case. I replaced them with Joe Barden Engineering (JBE) soapbar pickups sometime back when I was trying JBE’s out in Teles and Strats and noticed they made them in a P90 type too. The SD’s sound great – the JBE ones sound amazing ! Check out the video of Papa Chubby playing this guitar. Actually, it’s probably the nicest sounding guitar I own. The only issue is some minor fret sprout. If I can find time I'll take care of that.
I saved a record of the purchase but all the details got chopped off. I’ll include what I can see, measure, or remember. Listing price is less than what I have into it.
Specifications:
Body Wood: Ash I’m sure (probably reclaimed wood)
Fretboard: I assume stained maple
Radius: 9.5″
Weight: 8lb 13 oz
Nut: Compensated
Nut width: 1-5/8”
Neck Shape: Medium C
Pickups: JBE and Seymour Duncan P90’s (latter in the case)
Bridge: Wilkinson
Tuners: Sperzel Locking *
* Sperzel tuners are staggered so no string T’s needed. However – I’m including a couple in the case if buyer feels the need to have them.
Reason for selling – I don’t play this guitar all that much or I should say as much as I should. That being said it’s a one-of-a-kind very cool guitar, that I really don’t mind hanging on to.
