Collings guitars are one of the most highly regarded brands in the world. Collings' consistently high level of craftsmanship means that the instrument possesses a beauty that will captivate any player just by holding it, and when you play it, it produces a sound that will leave you satisfied. This particular instrument is an "OM3H," a 1997 model from the lacquer era, with a beautiful sunburst finish. It features a superb spruce top with evenly spaced grain that shows a beautiful shimmer depending on the angle, Indian rosewood sides and back, a Honduran mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, Waverly open-back tuners, ivoroid fingerboard and body binding, tortoiseshell pickguard, herringbone trim purfling, abalone rosette, mosaic backstrip, and an original scalloped bracing top construction that addresses the shortcomings of pre-war Martin guitars. This guitar boasts a rich, full-bodied sound that resonates deeply, expansive with abundant overtones. It offers the characteristic Collings torque, quickly and reliably responding to even strong inputs, with clear and responsive clarity. The sound is bright and sparkling, yet never cold or impersonal. Single notes in each position are played with neat, lustrous long tones. While there are some minor scratches, small dents, and peg winder marks, there is no significant damage, and the guitar maintains a remarkably clean condition for an all-lacquer model. There is a strap pin mounting mark near the heel of the 6th string shoulder, but it has been neatly filled. The neck is, of course, of Collings quality, maintaining a smooth and easy-to-play action. The slightly rare herringbone pattern "OM3" sunburst color is also charming, making this a truly exceptional instrument. Definitely worth checking out. Original hard case included.
