Up for sale, a 1983 Gibson The Explorer E2 CMT in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. One of a few Explorer variants that Gibson released in the early ‘80s, the E2 CMT was manufactured from 1981-84, differentiated by a bound curly maple top (hence the CMT model designation) highlighted by a gloss Antique Cherry Sunburst nitro lacquer finish, outfitted with a TP6 fine tuning tailpiece and a pair of Dirty Fingers humbuckers.

Beyond the curly maple top, this Explorer E2 CMT features a solid maple body, three-piece maple neck, and ebony fingerboard, and this Explorer E2 CMT weighs 9lbs 13oz, with a notable present treble response thanks to the all-maple construction. The ebony fingerboard delivers a certain glassy treble attack, and the pair of original "Dirty Fingers" Gibson humbuckers with double screw coils have incredible power and punch. Designed specifically for high gain situations with smooth compression and thick, churning drive, these high output humbuckers are aggressive and full-sounding. This Explorer E2 CMT has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
